Role Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Theatre Practitioner – Scrub to join a well-established private healthcare theatre environment in Kent.
This role is ideal for an experienced Scrub Practitioner who is confident working within a theatre setting and is ready to take on additional responsibility, including supporting and mentoring junior colleagues, contributing to effective theatre list management and maintaining high standards of patient safety and perioperative care.
You will work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary theatre team, with opportunities for professional development and career progression.
Key Requirements

Registered RN or ODP

Proven Scrub experience

Experience leading and managing surgical lists

Experience planning, organising and running theatre lists

Experience supervising staff and scheduling operating lists
-
Previous perioperative experience within an acute NHS or private hospital environment

Strong leadership, communication and team-building skills

Excellent patient-centred approach
Desirable:

Post-registration Practice Supervisor or Practice Assessor qualification

Surgical First Assistant qualification
-
Experience in Anaesthetics
-
Experience working across general and orthopaedic surgery
Key Responsibilities

Working as a Scrub Practitioner across general and orthopaedic surgical procedures

Leading and mentoring junior members of the theatre team

Deputising for the Lead Theatre Practitioner when required

Planning, organising and running surgical lists

Supporting the supervision and scheduling of theatre staff

Preparing operating and anaesthetic rooms for procedures
-
Ensuring effective communication with Wards, Imaging and Sterile Services

Assessing patient care requirements and evaluating outcomes
-
Maintaining high standards of patient safety and clinical care
