Bank Chemotherapy Nurse – Oncology Department

An established private hospital in the East Midlands is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Oncology Department on a bank (flexible) basis. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, planned care to patients undergoing oncology treatment
- Support the day-to-day running of the Oncology Day Chemotherapy Unit
- Administer and manage Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT)
- Assess patient health and wellbeing across a complex caseload
- Contribute to care planning throughout the full cancer treatment pathway
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Work collaboratively with consultants and clinical colleagues to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Candidate Requirements
- Valid NMC registration with no restrictions
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in Oncology or Haematology
- Competency in venepuncture, phlebotomy, cannulation, and use of CVADs
- Evidence of SACT competency
- UKONS SACT Passport (desirable)
- Post-registration qualification in cancer care (desirable)
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, patient-focused approach
- Ability to manage workload effectively within a dynamic clinical setting
