Job Title: Obstetric Sonographer

Role Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Obstetric Sonographer to provide high-quality pregnancy ultrasound services in a professional clinical environment.
The successful candidate will perform a variety of pregnancy ultrasound examinations, including early reassurance, dating, gender, growth and 4D scans, while providing clear information, appropriate care and a positive experience for clients throughout their visit.
Key Requirements
- Qualified and experienced Sonographer
- Strong practical experience in obstetric ultrasound
- Minimum 2 years' relevant professional experience in a similar ultrasound/sonography role
- Current registration with an appropriate professional body, such as HCPC, NMC or GMC, or relevant professional membership/registration with BMUS, where applicable
- Strong experience in pregnancy ultrasound
- Confidence performing a range of obstetric scans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, reliable and patient-centred approach
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a small clinical team
- Commitment to high standards of clinical practice, hygiene, confidentiality and patient safety
- Previous 4D ultrasound and/or NIPT experience advantageous
- Professional references available
- Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pregnancy ultrasound examinations, including early reassurance, dating, gender, growth and 4D scans
- Obtain high-quality ultrasound images and videos in line with clinical and professional standards
- Communicate scan findings clearly and sensitively
- Maintain accurate, complete and confidential patient records
- Recognise findings that may require further assessment and make appropriate referrals or recommendations
- Provide phlebotomy services for NIPT screening following appropriate training
- Follow clinical, infection-control, safeguarding and health and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming clinical environment
- Work closely with the wider clinical team to provide a consistent and professional client experience
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Contribute to maintaining and improving clinical and service standards
